Canon EOS 5D Mark III launch
Canon has finally unveiled their much-awaited EOS 5D Mark III full-frame camera (more photos after the link). The Canon 5D Mark III is the successor to the 5D Mark II launched almost 4 years ago in 2008 and wow, it’s a huge step up from the previous model. The 5D Mark III sports a new 22.3 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, which is a relatively modest step up from the 5D Mark II’s 21.1 megapixel sensor […]

Nokia PureView 808 smartphone
If you haven’t already heard about it, Nokia launched a new smartphone yesterday with a mindblowing 41 megapixels on a 1/1.2 inch image sensor, which is quite a bit larger than those 1/1.7 and 1/2.5 inch sensors found in your average compact camera nowadays. Not surprisingly, image quality will not be very usable out-of-the-box (even the recently announced Nikon D800 has “only” 36 megapixels on a significantly larger full-frame image sensor).
Instead, the Nokia PureView 808 works […]

Sony Cyber-shot HX200V
Sony has launched a new super-zoom digital camera, the Cyber-shot HX200V. The camera sports an updated image sensor, better image stabilization and autofocus speed, adds Picture Effects and ability to take still photos while recording video.

As with the other cameras launched today, this stylish model has the same 18 megapixel CMOS sensor as the glass Sony TX200V.

The TX20 replaced last year’s model, the Sony TX10 which we recently reviewed, with minimal changes; which include new body color designs, improved focusing performance, addition of Picture Effects and ability to take still photos while […]

Sony Cyber-shot HX20V
Sony has launched their near-flagship compact super-zoom Cyber-shot HX20V. The HX20V takes all the good stuff in its sibling, the Cyber-shot HX10V, and swaps out the lens for a more powerful 20X zoom model, improved movie frame sensor output and is made of Sony recycled plastic.
The Sony HX20V is only surpassed by its simultaneously-launched twin, the Sony Cyber-shot HX30V which is almost the same camera but with built-in WiFi.
