Olympus announced their SP-810UZ flagship ultra-zoom camera today. The camera features a huge and record shattering (again) 36X optical zoom lens, which is currently the longest zoom lens yet on a digital camera. With the announcement of the Panasonic Lumix FZ47 a week ago, things are shaping up to bring about a potentially interesting fall/autumn 2011. I think I’d better start planning for a ‘big’ ultra-zoom group test/review… right after I publish our huge (literally) ‘compact’ superzoom/travel zoom camera test in August. So stay tuned for that!
