August 5th, 2008 New Micro Four Thirds system
Olympus and Panasonic just announced the making of their new Micro Four Thirds system, which gets rid of the mirror to create interchangeable lens cameras which have:
- More compact body and smaller lens designs
- Constant live view and contrast detect AF
- Movie mode
- Takes normal Four Thirds lenses using an adapter
- Same sized sensors as normal Four Thirds cameras (means 2X crop factor)
Don't worry, the existing Four Thirds cameras aren't going anywhere. This is not a replacement, rather it's a "smaller + lighter" version of the system.
