Olympus prototype digital SLR

Olympus is showing off the replacement for their E-1 digital SLR in the form of a prototype camera at Photokina.

Fujifilm released a new digital SLR and compact camera today while Kodak announced an ultra-zoom camera.

Samsung's K10D

Samsung released a re-badged Pentax K10D digital SLR today under their own name: the GX-10. The specifications are the same as the K10D.

Canon announced several new cameras today, all featuring the new DIGIC III processor. Their new flagship Digital ELPH sounds promising to me (Sign me up for one!).

  • 35 - 210 mm (f2.8 - f4.8) 6X zoom lens
  • SR lens coating reduces flare and chromatic aberration
  • DIGIC III processor for increased performance, lower noise, face detection

Olympus released their E400 digital SLR today which unfortunately, won't be available in the US. Anyway, here it is.

Pentax releases new digital SLR, two compacts

Pentax released their much rumored K10D digital SLR as well as two new compact cameras today.

  • CCD-shift image stabilization system
  • 2.5 inch high-resolution LCD
  • Dual anti-dust: Anti-dust coating and CCD-vibration

  • Weather and dust proof sealing
  • Full manual controls plus scene modes
  • Shoots at 3 FPS (Unlimited JPEG or 9 RAW)
  • ISO priority modes
  • Takes SD/SDHC cards

  • Available in November for $899 (Body only) or $999 with the same 18 - 55 mm lens

Pentax also released a new 70 mm f2.4 ultra-compact lens today which will retail for $599.

New entry-level camera from Fujifilm

The A700 is an entry-level camera which uses Fujifilm's SuperCCD but can only do up to ISO 400.
