DPInterface SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo Review
Brad Soo - May 7th, 2006

Besides Sony and Lexar, SanDisk also produces Memory Stick PRO Duo, a proprietary memory card format originated by Sony. The Memory Stick PRO Duo is a physically smaller version of the normal Memory Stick - it is about half the length. While Memory Stick Duo cards can fit into normal Memory Stick slots via an adapter (See above), Memory Sticks cannot do otherwise.

At $34.99 retail price and readily available for about $20 online, the 256 MB SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo is a bargain and about the same price as its Secure Digital counterpart (SanDisk 256 MB Secure Digital). And, the SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo comes with an adapter for conventional Memory Stick slots.

The SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo transfers all its content onto the computer and back to the card within 2 minutes, based on my testing. That's a fast 5 MB/s read and write speed.

With snappy performance, affordable price and large capacities, the Memory Stick PRO Duo from SanDisk is a good buy and is available at capacities up to 2 GB (at time of review).
