Nikon introduced a new digital SLR model today, the D5100, which replaces the successful D5000. The camera brings plenty of changes, most notably the new LCD swivel mechanism (which opens to the side and is more flexible) and new image sensor, as well as several other changes.

The Olympus TG-810 is a new rugged camera announced today by Olympus. It looks to be their ‘flagship’ rugged camera for 2011 with the most rugged construction of them all (the TG310 and TG610 announced earlier this year are tough, but not as super-duper tough as this camera). It even has built-in GPS, compass and a manometer, so you get to know exactly where you took your photos, wherever you bring the camera.

Olympus brings out three new cameras

Olympus has announced three more cameras today; a big zoom camera (which appears to have dropped the “Ultra-Zoom” moniker they’ve been using for years), a compact super-zoom camera and an entry-level model.

Nikon rolls out new Coolpix cameras for 2011

Well, Nikon didn’t announce (or even officially appear, though I bumped into one of their guys from Nikon Japan) anything at the Consumer Electronics Show last month in Las Vegas, but they’re making announcements now! Better late than never, right? Nikon has fully refreshed their entire Coolpix line of digital cameras (although there aren’t aNy new digital SLRs today), which makes them ready to take on the market looking for a 2011 camera model. They’ve got ultra-zoom cameras, compact cameras, affordable cameras and even a new compact prosumer camera (which will compete against the likes of the Canon S95 and Olympus XZ1)

Fujifilm ready to launch FinePix X100 rangefinder style camera

After talking about it at Photokina last year, Fujifilm is now ready to launch their rangefinder-inspired FinePix X100 digital camera to the market.
