Sony Cyber-shot M2

Sony has announced its update to 2004's Sony Cyber-shot DSC-M1 in some countries. The new M2 features a more stylish design, revised button placement and is now silver. Other than that, the same features from the DSC-M1 such as 5 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, a 2.5″? LCD and MPEG4 TV movie recording with stereo sound, have been carried over to the Sony Cyber-shot M2.

Sony R1 and Ricoh R3

Sony announced its high-end Sony Cyber-shot DSC-R1 today which features a 10.3 megapixel APS-sized CMOS sensor, 5x zoom starting from a very wide angle (24-120 mm) and lots of manual controls.

While the DSC-R1 has a large number of megapixels, the Ricoh Caplio R3 announced yesterday has a large amount of zoom. This new ultra-compact camera features 5 megapixels and 7x optical zoom (28-200 mm).

Another 7 new cameras

There have surely been a lot of cameras announced over the past week or so. Yesterday, Pentax announced 2 new cameras:

  • Pentax Optio S6
  • Pentax Optio WPi

And today, Nikon just released 5 cameras (Including two with WiFi):

  • Nikon Coolpix P1
  • Nikon Coolpix P2
  • Nikon Coolpix L1
  • Nikon Coolpix S3
  • Nikon Coolpix S4
