I would like to know which one you recommend for taking pictures of my kids? I am looking overall for great picture quality, sharpness and that when I press the shutter button, it will take the pic right away so I wont miss my baby’s smile. Which would you recommend the SD 940 is, or the SD 980 is?

The highest unsigned integer you mean. Otherwise it would be 0111 1111 1111 1111 for a signed integer (I’m a software engineer).

Hi, thanks for your comment. Well, sometimes if you know what you’re doing/fiddle with the camera settings, using some mode other than IA can be better. I’d say IA is only for convenience of not having to adjust anything at all (well, basically the camera does the thinking for you, so the results may or may not turn out as you wish)

hi. i bought an e1 myself. picture may not be super impressive, but my family and friends and I had fun taking pictures with this cam. i think its great even for a late-twenty something gal like me. most of all, it’s cheap yet doesn’t look like one.

Nice review…but I was wondering how accurate Intelligent Auto is, sometimes I have to switch to Programmed AE to get better shot because some IA shots were darker..

I had recently purchased a Canon sx20 is. When I was using it for the first time I felt the mechanics inside were a bit noisy or making lots of unusual sounds when doing automatic image adjustments. I just wanted to know whether this is normal ? Thanks,

I got this for dustproofing and underwater pool use, and so far I haven’t been disappointed. I’ve had it one week. Haven’t made prints but have inspected the photos closely: thumbs-up.

If you are on the fence about this camera, go for it. It is pricey, but it takes fabulous pictures. I tried the scene mode, auto mode and manual in a variety of situations. They all work very well.
