However, I had to do some experimentation with camera settings in order to get good and acceptable quality images. The size is a major winner, as it is hassle free to move around with it. Plus some good features and 16 screen modes, panorama assist can satisfy some entry level photographers aspiring to become professionals. I am quite satisfied and consider it a good buy for hassle free photography. I recently bought S220 and am pretty satisfied with the result. I already own a Nikon D200, so I have a higher-end digital SLR--but I am considering getting a point-and-shoot that is compact and lightweight for quick snapshots and a backup camera (just in case the D200 fails). I can get it for $130 at a local COSTCO (includes 2GB SD card), so the S220 is a front-runner for affordability, although I would sacrifice quality images. I am going to check other brands such as Casio Exslim, but I am already familiar with the Nikon menu system (the S220 and D200 have similiar menu layouts).
