Olympus PEN ‘Mini’ E-PM1
(Compact interchangeable lens camera)
The third and final PEN camera Olympus had to announce today is a new spawn off the existing E-P and E-PL line of PEN cameras. The E-PM1 PEN “Mini” is even smaller (but still very similar) than the E-PL3 above and has fewer buttons. It’s obviously geared towards beginners looking for a portable (and possibly affordable) offering to set foot in the interchangeable lens camera market, though enthusiasts just looking for a plain and […]

Olympus TG-810
The Olympus TG-810 is a new rugged camera announced today by Olympus. It looks to be their ‘flagship’ rugged camera for 2011 with the most rugged construction of them all (the TG310 and TG610 announced earlier this year are tough, but not as super-duper tough as this camera). It even has built-in GPS, compass and a manometer, so you get to know exactly where you took your photos, wherever you bring the camera.

Waterproof (33 feet), shockproof (6.6 feet), freezeproof […]

Olympus teases new prosumer camera with Zuiko lens at Photokina
in on September 20 2010

Olympus is showing off their new ‘prosumer’ compact camera at Photokina this year. Details are fairly vague as Olympus plans to keep them under wraps until early next year (probably CES 2011); but so far, they’ve shown that it will be a prosumer-like model (which I am personally guessing will compete against the likes of the Canon PowerShot G12 and Nikon Coolpix P7000) with a built-in (non-interchangeable) Zuiko lens with some amount of optical zoom, a built-in popup flash, […]

Olympus has just announced their new flagship digital SLR today, the Olympus E-5. The new E-5 introduces a few changes and improvements here and there (some of which you’ve probably already seen in Olympus’ recent consumer digital SLRs); none of which are particularly earth-shaking.
